14 June 2012
Chandler, August 20, 2012 – On June 14th, GIMXPORT, the Regroupement of professional fishermen of the Southern Gaspe as well as the processors of Gaspe and the Magdalen Islands took part in the Lobster Fest during the 14th annual Cruise Canada New England Symposium held at the Ross Gaudreault Cruise Terminal in Quebec City.
This yearly symposium on international cruises enables nearly 200 delegates from the industry, such as port and airport authorities, tour operators, tourist offices, shipping agencies, government partners, cruise lines, to position their products and services and to discover the newest trends and the latest developments of the cruise industry. This year, it was the Cruise Association of the St. Lawrence who received the symposium in Quebec City.
International visibility for Quebec lobster
During this symposium, organizing a large Lobster Fest is just part of the tradition. It is in this context that GIMXPORT joined with Cruise the Saint Lawrence Association to create an event where Quebec lobster would be honored. The lobster was sponsored by processors of Gaspesie and the Magdalen Islands and several promotional tools were developed for the industry. This successful event was entirely coordinated by the GIMXPORT team.
This year, nearly 175 representatives from over 21 cruise lines were able to appreciate the quality and unique taste of the Quebec lobster. We invite you to visit the website designed for the event at www.lobsterfestquebec.com
